Thanks for a Great Season

I as well as Mary, Cris, Maureen, and Kevin would like to thank the parents for their generous gifts and for their amazing support throughout the season. We cannot thank you enough for making our season possible and love the opportunity to work with your children and watching them progress throuhout the season. We can’t wait to see you all again next year.

In addition, I have been without my laptop for the past few weeks, but the slideshow is finally working on the website (listed under the “Photos” section).

The sign up for bringing dishes to our end of season dinner can now be found on our website. Please add your name (and the food item, if applicable) to any yellow box on the sign up. Once someone has signed up, the box will turn white. Extention cords and power strips will be available for crock pots and any other warming devices. Summer Swim Options

We recommend that all swimmers work on their swimming over the summer so that they will be ready to excel in March. Here are a few local (or somewhat local) options:

Tymor Park Swim Team

The Tymor Park Swim Team is a local swim team that practices at the Tymor Park pool in the Town of Union Vale, NY. The team is coached by Coach Mary, Coach Cris, and myself. The season runs from early July to early August and practices are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings as well as Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The team competes in the Hudson Valley Lake League which is less competitive than the ESSL and a fun experience for everyone. The team has been the champions of their division for the past 3 years. For more information, see tymorswim.com or email me at brian@tymorswim.com.

Mount Saint Mary College Swim Camp

The Mount Saint Mary College swim camp will be held at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY and will be held from August 6-10 at 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m each day. This is a camp for swimmers of any age group; the camp is split between the older and younger swimmers. The older swimmers are coached by Gene Damm, the Mount Saint Mary College Head Men’s Coach and the Skyline Conference Coach of the Year in 2008-09. The younger swimmers are coached by Mary Damm, the Mount Saint Mary College Head Women’s Coach. In nearly 35 years of coaching at all levels, Mary Damm has earned recognition for her work with beginning and intermediate swimmers of all ages. For more information on this camp, please visit http://msmcknights.com/sports/2009/2/19/GEN_0219091013.aspx .

West Point Summer Camps

West Point Swim Camps will focus on the latest skills & drills that are designed to help the campers become enthusiastic and dedicated swimmers. The campers will have fun, get fit and make new friends as they develop good habits and muscle memory during each (3 daily) swim training sessions. In addition to swimming instruction the campers will learn about nutrition, motivation, goal setting and dry land training while taking their swimming to the next level. A wide variety of extracurricular activities includes a lake swim, scavenger hunt and much more. Come take part in this one-of-a-kind experience. Our Swim Camps are directed by Coach Mickey Wender who is the Head of our Men’s and Women’s swimming teams. He has coached every level from summer league to international level athletes and has coached swimmers to the NCAA Division I Championships in every event. Our camp sessions will be conducted in West Point’s world-class 50 meter pool. The costs of our camps are $450.00 for a commuter camper and $550.00 for an overnighter.

July 8-12, July 15-19 and July 22-26
